I remember this one day when I had some pending work in Kurla and was traveling by Mumbai Local Train. Fortunately for me I had got a window seat and was enjoying the morning breeze.
Suddenly my attention went to this girl sitting opposite to me , who was scribbling some thing that looked familiar.
She was “Copying” an Assignment which was something about the PN junction which I rem studying in first year of engg. Engineers are trained to copy ;)
We started talking (as usual..happens in ladies Compartment) and she told me that she is doing engg. in Vivekanand college in Electronics stream.
She had some class test for which she was already late.
For the next 15-20 mins we bonded so well. We discussed so many things .We cribbed about Mumbai university, college, Temperature, crowd, rush, traffic, etc… We had a lot of tips to share too.
I gave her gyan on Engg.( all crap..which I neva followed myself).
She shared her shopping tips. I really liked her dressing sense esp. her bracelet which had little pink and blue beads that had her name engraved –M-E-H-E-K. She smiled coyly and said that her BF gifted her that on her bday.
But as good friendship stories come to end, this one too.. Actually our train reached our destination. We both had to get down at Kurla..
She immediately rushed for her coll as she was already late for her test.i bidded her good bye and wished her luck.
Its so strange how you meet new people everyday and every experience is so unique.
Here I met a stranger and became friends in just 15 mins. Mumbai meri jaan…
After completing my work in Kurla ( which took only 10-15 mins) i was coming climbing the foot over bridge when suddenly few people starting pushing and asking every1 to make way.
Just out of shock I turned around and saw people carrying a dead body which was covered in white sheet.
As I was quite used to train accidents I wasn at all moved by the incident. I just moved to the side of the bridge to make way. The people just crossed me and I realize the dead body was that of a girl as I cud see long hair flowing backwards. I heard a few people talking that she was hit by a train while she was crossing the tracks. I thot how stupid some1 can be to cross tracks and risk their own life like that.As the people were almost running with the body the white sheet moved a little and my attention went to her hand which had the same bracelet with beads spelling M-E-H-E-K.
Such is life in Mumbai…. Met a friend in 15 mins …and then Lost her permanently …..
